This workshop will challenge participants to consider their personal level of cultural competence and how it impacts professional dispositions and instructional pedagogy. Focusing on culture, bias and diversity through both a historical and contemporary lens, this interactive session will promote critical thinking, honest reflection and authentic dialogue. Moreover, this workshop will support the establishing of an organizational climate wherein educators are empowered to have the necessary and courageous conversations regarding the socio-cultural dynamic of our society and its impact on education.
